A Photograph of Jason and his mother sits prominently in his home. Jason was just three years old when his father took this picture of the perfect summer day on a beach in California, but the photograph and the memories that go with it have stayed with him his entire life. In many ways that one photograph still informs the way Jason makes photographs; seamlessly joining stories and style.
“…for me photography has always been about sharing the way I see the world. It has given me a voice to create art, a new language to communicate how we are all united by our stories.” – Jason Wells
Jason’s love for story and adventure has taken him around the world photographing in more than 40 different countries and sharing countless stories through his lens. From his commission to photograph the “Creation of the Bellagio Hotel” in Las Vegas, Nevada to a year photographing the peoples of Palau Micronesia. Jason’s ability to understand the stories that are unfolding in front of him is unsurpassed. Most recently Jason photographed the tragic condition of Haiti. Inserted soon after the devastating earthquake his photographs reveal the human condition with beauty and compassion. Jason is making a storied life and endless memories with his wife Heather and their three children Sidney, Landon and Hayden.
